30 Years of Improving Health Outcomes: 30 Facts About MTM Health
As we celebrate MTM Health’s 30th anniversary in June 2025, we’re honored to reflect on three decades of connecting people to care and removing barriers to create healthier communities. From our humble beginnings in 1995 to our rebranding as MTM Health in 2025, our mission has always been to improve health outcomes for Medicaid and Medicare members nationwide.
Join us in celebrating with these 30 facts about MTM Health that highlight our journey, innovations, and impact!
How We Got Here
1. Founded in 1995: MTM Health began as Medical Transportation Management, one of the nation’s first non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) brokers, with a vision to ensure access to healthcare for all.
2. Co-Founded by Visionaries Peg and Lynn Griswold: Peg and Lynn launched MTM after seeing the difficulty health plans had in coordinating transportation services for their members, bringing a brokered approach to NEMT that leveraged existing transportation networks instead of purchasing or owning vehicles.
3. Humble Beginnings: MTM started in a one-room office with just two employees—Peg and Lynn’s oldest children. Fun fact: our first office shared a wall with a bar, so during late nights, our team got free concerts through the wall!
4. Rebranded to MTM Health in 2025: To mark our 30th anniversary, we became MTM Health earlier this year, reflecting our expanded mission beyond transportation to include comprehensive healthcare solutions.
5. Ongoing Family Ties: To this day, the Griswold family still owns and leads MTM Health. Peg and Lynn’s daughter, Alaina Macia, is our President and CEO, with her siblings heavily involved as shareholders and plans for future generations to join the company.
6. Long-Term Leadership: We take pride in the fact that our leaders know their stuff—in fact, our President and CEO Alaina Macia has been with MTM Health since 2003 and has served as CEO since 2005.
