Celebrating Women’s History Month: Leading the Change at MTM Health
March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the achievements, resilience, and leadership of women throughout history and today. This year’s theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” celebrates women who are driving progress across environmental, economic, educational, and social justice movements. It recognizes that true sustainability goes beyond the planet, from building equitable systems to fostering economic stability and creating inclusive workplaces that endure for generations.
At MTM Health, this theme resonates deeply. As a woman-owned and operated business since our founding in 1995, we’ve been committed to empowering women in the workplace and beyond. Our story began with Peg Griswold, who co-founded the company alongside her husband, Lynn. Peg played an integral role in shaping MTM Health for more than 15 years, laying a strong foundation of leadership and vision. In 2005, she passed the reins to her stepdaughter, Alaina Macia, our current President and CEO, ensuring the company’s woman-led legacy continues to thrive. And our female leadership doesn’t stop with Alaina. More than half of our executive team is female, including Chief Marketing Officer Michele Lucas, Chief Financial Officer Jill Heneghan, Chief Human Resources Officer Kerri Mileski, and Senior Vice President of Service Delivery Dana Wilkerson.
We’re proud to be a female-dominated organization, but our commitment goes far beyond numbers. We actively promote gender equality, ensuring that every employee—male and female—has equal opportunities to grow, lead, and succeed. From conducting annual wage gap analyses by our People & Culture team to prevent disparities, to fostering an inclusive culture where diverse voices drive innovation, we’re building a sustainable workplace that supports long-term equity and empowerment.
In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, here are five facts about the incredible women who power MTM Health:
- Our organization was founded by a woman in 1995, and has remained woman-owned and led ever since.
- More than 61% of our leadership team are women, driving change and empowerment from the top down.
- 79+% of our workforce is comprised of female staff, reflecting the deep roots of women’s contributions at every level of our organization.
- Every year, our People & Culture team conducts a wage disparity analysis to identify, address, and prevent any disparities in pay between females and males in the same role, ensuring fair compensation and upholding our commitment to economic sustainability and justice. Our most recent analysis was performed in August of 2025, with plans to continue annual reviews.
- We invest in long-term leadership succession with a focus on intergenerational equity. By mentoring and promoting from within, including transitioning leadership from founder Peg Griswold to current CEO Alaina Macia, we’re building a sustainable model of female leadership that inspires future generations and creates lasting impact in healthcare transportation and beyond.
These facts highlight not just our history, but our ongoing dedication to shaping a more equitable and sustainable future—right here in our workplace.
This Women’s History Month, join MTM Health in celebrating the women who lead the change every day. Show solidarity for women’s rights in the workplace and beyond—whether by amplifying women’s voices, supporting equal opportunities, or simply recognizing the contributions of the amazing women around you.
Here’s to the trailblazers, the sustainers, and the changemakers. Together, we’re leading the way toward a brighter, more accessible future.
