MTM Health to Co-Sponsor Diaper Bundling Service Activity at MHPA25

This September, Medicaid leaders from across the nation will gather in Kansas City for the Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA) 2025 Annual Conference. Known as the nation’s largest Medicaid managed care conference, MHPA25 brings together payers, providers, and stakeholders for three days of collaboration, learning, and impact. With this year’s theme of The Rhythm of Progress: Medicaid’s Beat in the Heartland, the conference will focus on driving innovation and advancing health equity in Medicaid programs nationwide.

In addition to insightful sessions and networking opportunities, MTM Health is proud to co-sponsor a meaningful service activity in collaboration with MHPA, Progeny Health, and Kansas City nonprofit HappyBottoms. Together, we will host a diaper bundling event where attendees can roll up their sleeves and give back to families in need across the Kansas City area.

Diapers are a necessity for infants and toddlers, yet they aren’t covered by government safety net programs like food stamps, Medicaid, or WIC. The financial burden is significant: diapers can cost up to $100 per child per month, which amounts to 10% or more of many low-income families’ budgets. In Kansas City alone, more than 21,000 children are in need of diaper assistance.

That’s where HappyBottoms comes in. The organization partners with local social service agencies and hospitals to distribute free diapers to families in need. By participating in this year’s diaper bundling activity, MHPA25 attendees will help assemble bundles of diapers that will be directly distributed to families throughout the Kansas City community.

“This year’s MHPA conference is being held in our home state of Missouri and we are honored to give back to members of the Kansas City community who are in need of essential baby supplies,” said MTM Health’s President and CEO Alaina Macia. “This event directly contributes to our vision of communities without barriers, as well as our focus on improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations, including mothers and babies. HappyBottoms understands that access to diapers is important across the board and can vastly improve infant health and overall social determinants of health factors.”
