With the goals of improving service quality, increasing efficiency and effectiveness, and growing transit ridership, MTM Transit recently partnered with Martin County, Florida to operate the local MARTY fixed route system and MARTY Access ADA paratransit service, which serve a combined ridership of 106,000 passengers every year. April 1, 2020 marks the start of MTM Transit’s contract with the City of Conroe, TX operating Conroe Connection Services, consisting of fixed route and Dial-A-Ride transportation options.
MTM Transit always looks for ways to enhance the services we provide to passengers. This fall, we’re launching two new initiatives that will give Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) passengers in the greater Washoe County area of Nevada increased access to their community: FlexRIDE microtransit service and the RTC Access passenger mobile app.
Have you heard about the latest trend in transit, microtransit? Several of MTM Transit’s transit agency partners have launched innovative microtransit pilots, including Capital Metro in Austin, Texas. We’re proud to collaborate with Capital Metro to offer the app-based Pickup rideshare service in five sections of their service area to help fill in gaps in traditional fixed route public transit.
September will be a bittersweet month at MTM Transit as we say farewell to two longtime employees. Penny Fennell, Corporate Operations Support, and Donna Benedict, Allegan General Manager, will both be retiring and are looking forward to spending time with their loved ones. For the past 10 years, MTM’s sister company Ride Right has been one of the transit industry’s leading partners for fixed route transit, ADA paratransit, and student transportation services. Now, Ride Right’s operations are folding under the umbrella of MTM’s transit services, with the company becoming officially known as MTM Transit.
