Katherine Lemley, an accomplished attorney with demonstrated success providing strategic legal advice to organizations in the healthcare industry, has joined MTM as our new General Counsel effective July 13, 2020. Katherine replaces longtime General Counsel Don Tiemeyer, who retired at the end of June following his impressive 17-year MTM career.
As General Counsel, Katherine ensures MTM adheres to federal, state, and local laws and regulatory requirements in all of our operating areas. She is MTM’s chief advisor and representation on all legal matters, and oversees the execution of all contracts with clients, vendors, and providers. Katherine is also a valued resource and guide to MTM’s Risk Management Committee and Board of Directors.
Katherine joins MTM from Centene Corporation, where she spent three years as Regional General Counsel. In this role, she served as General Counsel throughout seven Centene markets, providing legal advice, transactional assistance, and dispute representation relating to the organization’s managed care products—including Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, TRICARE, dual eligible, and special needs plans. Prior to her career at Centene, she spent 14 years as an attorney at Bryan Cave, an international law firm headquartered in St. Louis. A member of the American Bar Association, Katherine earned her Juris Doctorate from the St. Louis University School of Law, as well as her Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
“Katherine is an expert in Medicaid and Medicare legalities, which is very important to MTM in ensuring our operations abide by all Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services guidelines,” said President and CEO Alaina Macia. “Her impressive background and readiness to collaborate across all aspects of MTM’s business will allow her to quickly take the lead role in managing and mitigating risk in our operations. We’re incredibly sad to see Don retire, but are confident that Katherine will step into his shoes with ease.”
Welcome to MTM, Katherine!
